Why Mentoring

Mentoring is a method that works on the basis of the development of less skilled individuals, e.g. new colleagues (mentoree) developed by skilled persons (mentors). Mentoring is based on a voluntary support of one person (mentoree) by another person (mentor). Through a systematic learning and cooperation with a mentor an employee gains confidence in new work processes, improves his/her skills and raises his/her work efficiency.

Mentoring is about creating relationship between a mentor and a mentoree, which benefits both parties concerned. A mentoree has the possibility to observe, rethink and gain the experience which will help them to avoid costly mistakes. He or she also has the chance to better grasp how to manage professional and day-to-day situations. On the other hand a mentor is also enriched by the subjects and perceptions of a person from the field.

Roles and Competences

The roles of a mentor and a mentoree are strictly laid out. The relation of both parties is based on mutual confidence and is absolutely voluntary. Both a mentor and a mentoree have the same responsibility for the Mentoring development, how it runs and what goals will be achieved.
